Description
This bronze sculpture captures the essence of an aerial movement. The animal silhouette unfolds with instinctive grace. The lines are fluid. The curves stretch to suggest a dance suspended in space.
The artist favors free and generous proportions. The work of the metal reveals a dark patina, punctuated by golden reflections. This contrast emphasizes the finesse of the line and the tension of the composition.
The style is distinguished by a spontaneous approach. The absence of classical academic training brings immediate freshness to the form. The balance between simplicity and elegance guides the eye toward the tapered end of the tail.
Realized in 2023, this piece is part of a figurative research focused on animality. The structure relies on three stable points of contact, contrasting with the lightness of the neck and beak. The whole rests on a play of organic and rounded volumes.
Presentation
He developed his unique style, it stands out due to its generous forms, profusion of curves and the unique proportions. Nudity is a recurrent theme in his work and is treated sensually, this gives him a provocative reputation, and adds on to his fame. The fact that he didn't receive any formal training in sculpture or bronze work, gives an immature impression, which defines his style and now is his hallmark.
A professional artist, he began exhibiting at an early age, in galleries around the world since 1996. Recently, his work was exhibited in prestigious fairs like Miami Art Fair, London Art Fair, Singapore Art Fair but also the Lux Art Fair in 2016. He is also popular at Drouot sales.
