Description
Pop aesthetics is embodied here in a familiar and playful silhouette. The artist distorts the bear figure to make it a support for graphic expression. The plexiglass brings a modern shine to the whole.
The work is based on a stacking of contemporary cultural references. Touches of acrylic come to dress the structure. Codes from advertising and comic books are found in it. A female figure with strong features dialogues with typographic elements and stylized lips.
The composition plays on the contrast between the rounded shape of the support and the precision of the painted details. The black circular base anchors the object in space. The reflections of the transparent material add a changing dimension depending on the angle of view. The whole presents itself as a dialogue between plastic arts and graphic design. Each visual detail refers to current urban imagery. The piece rests on a dark and textured base.
Presentation
Trained in graphic arts, Fred began his career in the world of graphic design and advertising before extending his practice to plastic and pictorial creation.
Working with wood, aluminum, resin or even plexiglass, the artist enhances each of his supports with numerous touches of acrylic paint.
Fred draws his inspiration from the wide range of visual codes and cultural references offered by our modern society to create clever paintings, resolutely pop and colorful.
