Description
Martine Degot, for more than 30 years, still spends Christmas in Venice in the company of her husband, great esthete and lover of art and beauty. She brought back an old mirror, a long time ago, to adorn her dressing table. Then, recently, the artist decided to transform this mirror into an allegory of Venetian beauty and pomp, by customizing it with a small "putto", the angels in Italian, various masks, including one, very rare in carved ivory, in which she brings forth blue tears in Swarvisky crystal. The whole, as for many of his works, is tense with links that transform this fantasized Venice "into a place protected by fences.

Presentation
The thousand and one fantasies of Martine Degot
Painting, singing, dreaming....here is a complete artist who likes to mix genres and marry arts! Writing, then theater, directing and finally painting and collage ... Martine Degot transforms the banal, cultivates the extra-ordinary in everything she does;
Thus she creates unique paintings, poems in 3 dimensions, from objects found during her walks and encounters: candy wrappers, boxing gloves, bicycle stretchers, old toys .... a moving way to give them a new life, to awaken our childish soul and to play with memories.
Often, Martine Degot's paintings are inspired by her songs, the artist managing to find melodies everywhere with a deep sense of poetry.
Her works transfigure the mundane into compositions full of her incredible energy and love of life.
Martine Degot creates and recreates for us small worlds that wake us up and remind us how wonderful the daily life can be...
