Description
This expressive and politically charged original drawing is a unique work by American street art legend QUIK.
The work is a mixed media in Crayon, ink and colored pencil on paper
Signed and dated in red lower right ("Lin Felton 05")
Additionally signed with date and location on the reverse. All visible though plexiglas.
The work captures QUIKs unmistakable visual language merging humor with biting critique through a chaotic composition filled with punchy references to nationalism, religion, and social identity.
Familiar cartoon characters collide with graffiti elements and hand-written questions like " Art you experienced? " and " Why am I Black? ", challenging viewers to confront uncomfortable truths.

Presentation
Lin Felton was born in 1958 in Queens; he lives and works in New York.
He started tagging the walls of Queens at the age of 10 (under the name Star10). His fascination for this world started when he saw the metro trains in movement covered in tags. He then changed his name to Quik and signs wherever he can. He is a solo artist, not part of any crew.
Inspired by Hugo Martinez (UGA), who encourages graffiti artists to turn to canvas, exhibit their works and consider themselves artists, he started to produce paintings very early in his career. He is socially engaged and his works denounce racial discrimination through his character, Quik. His works refer to his private life and to the art and business world, in a fun and quirky style.
After achieving international fame, his works have entered many prestigious collections. His works are present in the collections of the Museum of the City of New York, Studio Museum of Harlem in New York City, the Becht Collection in Amsterdam, the Martin Visser Collection in the Netherlands, the Herning Kunstmuseum in Denmark, the Groninger Museum, the Helmond Museum in the Netherlands, the Henk Pijnenburg Collection, the Rudolph Scharpf Collection, the Martin Wong Collection, the Yaki Korenblit Collection, the Martin Sanders Collection, the Wildenberg Collection, and the Dieter Weber Collection.
