Biography

Andrea Roggi is a contemporary Italian sculptor born on July 2, 1962 in Castiglion Fiorentino (Tuscany, Italy) , now internationally recognized for his monumental bronze sculptures , in particular his famous Trees of Life , which have become a signature of his artistic language.

From adolescence, he developed an interest in painting and poetry before turning definitively to sculpture. A decisive step in his training was his encounter with Enzo Scatragli 's workshop, which allowed him to refine his initial techniques. However, it was the discovery of the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella in Florence and Masaccio 's fresco, The Trinity, that profoundly marked his artistic imagination and permanently steered his aesthetic exploration toward the spiritual and symbolic dimension of form.

In 1991 , he founded his own workshop, La Scultura di Andrea Roggi, where he developed a fully controlled production process, from modeling to casting. He specializes in the lost-wax casting technique, primarily in bronze, a material he explores in all its expressive possibilities. Over time, he has enriched his practice by also exploring marble (from 2017) and stainless steel (from 2020), thus expanding his artistic vocabulary.

His work is structured around major themes such as vital energy, the relationship between humankind and nature, memory and transmission , with a strong symbolic and philosophical dimension. His sculptures combine human figures and plant forms in organic compositions where matter becomes a vehicle for thought. The Trees of Life , inspired in particular by the cypress and olive trees of Tuscany, embody this vision of a profound connection between humanity and the cosmos.

A committed artist, he also initiated the “Art for Young" movement and the Creativity Park project, aimed at raising young people's awareness of artistic creation and the dialogue between art and nature. His monumental works are installed in numerous cities in Italy and internationally, and have been presented in prestigious institutions such as the Grand Palais in Paris , the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco , and museum spaces in Japan and China.

In 2026, a major retrospective entitled 50 Years of Creation was presented in Paris by the Bartoux Galleries, confirming his status as a major figure in international contemporary sculpture.
