Andriy Klishyn's painting "Night Guest" is an eerie and atmospheric depiction of an enigmatic figure emerging from the darkness. The ghostly form, painted in glowing green hues against a deep, shadowy background, creates an unsettling yet mesmerizing presence. The figure's outstretched arms and flowing garments give the impression of movement, as if it is floating or reaching out from an unknown realm.The faceless nature of the figure enhances the painting's sense of mystery, leaving room for interpretation—Is this a spirit, a lost soul, or a dreamlike apparition? The choice of color, dominated by cool greens and blues, evokes a supernatural glow, intensifying the feeling of an encounter beyond the physical world.Through this work, Klishyn explores themes of the unknown, the subconscious, and the thin boundary between reality and illusion. "Night Guest" invites the viewer into a realm where shadows hold secrets and unseen forces linger, making us question whether the figure is a visitor from another world or a reflection of our own hidden fears and emotions.
Presentation
Born on February 27, 1958 in the city of Kirovabad, Republic of Azerbaijan. Almost immediately after birth he moved to Eastern Kazakhstan, to the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk. Lived there for 15 years, graduated from school and grew up. In 1975 he moved to Crimea, and in 1978 he settled in eastern Ukraine, in the city of Gorlovka. He graduated from the Technical and Economic Institute and worked as an engineer, teacher, and then in the field of insurance, finance and banking. Since May 2014, a forced migrant has been living in Kyiv.
The artist about himself:
“As a professional artist, I started my career late, at 61 years old. But it is possible that this was what should have happened. Everything has its time. Rich life experiences have become the source of my creativity. My art is ambiguous and unlike any other, probably because “I paint with my heart." Sometimes I use an intuitive drawing, namely: not from life or from a photograph, but only what suits the subconscious, soul, heart.
Most importantly and completely unexpectedly for me, after a series of works I began to understand where my images come from... I think that I or my essence saw them in our past or future life.
Despite my little experience, I already have more than two hundred paintings, about forty of them have found “their home" in private collections and museums."
The paintings are in the Lutsk Art Museum, in the Korsakov Family Museum of Contemporary Art.
