The Taste of Wild Honey, 2026

Martsi (Nataliia Martsilenko)

This work is part of the Infinity Map series, dedicated to exploring the inner world and the search for personal answers.

Different facets of the inner self intertwine within this painting. One part longs for the unknown, for change and new experiences  for what might be called the taste of wild honey. Another seeks safety, clings to the familiar, and hesitates to step beyond the boundaries of the known world.
The image of the deer emerges as an inner guide, a symbol of intuition and reflection, helping to navigate these conflicting desires and find one's own path. Rather than offering definitive answers, the painting serves as a reminder of the importance of an attentive dialogue with oneself and trust in one's inner wisdom.
The artwork is created using a mixed-media, multilayered approach. Transparent layers, textured elements, and soft transitions of color create a sense of depth and fluidity, where the boundaries between human nature, the natural world, and inner emotional landscapes gradually dissolve.
