Description

Lisbeth Delisle, born April 26, 1935 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, is a French sculptor. She studied at the National School of Fine Arts from 1956 to 1962 where she notably attended the workshops of Robert Couturier and Marcel Gimond. The artist uses sculpture like a writer uses words, she tells the story of life, waiting, meeting, separation. It depicts its characters, highlighted by their environment: in the street, at the sea, under a tree, sheltered by the roof of the house. She created the sculpture Hommage à Édith Piaf for the Town Hall of the 20th arrondissement of Paris in 2003. This sculpture is installed at Place Édith-Piaf. The artist has a personal style that we find throughout his work (sculptures, drawings, collages) which reveals a great sculptor of our time.

His work strives to suggest the dynamism of life, the expression of a moment, an instant of intimacy, an encounter charged with emotion. She likes to construct scenes of life framed by architecture.

Lisbeth Delisle has participated in many group exhibitions, she has received the biggest sculpture prizes in France, she is known, recognized and admired by her peers. His work is loved by art lovers.

Lisbeth Delisle is an assembler in the sense that she assembles the shepherd, the wax, the cardboard, the wood, any material that will allow her to create a sculpture which she then entrusts to a founder to make a lasting work. His bronzes are in single copies or in editions of 8 + IV copies.

Today she creates her works in cardboard for its lightness and the rigor it brings to the line. Also, she works in 2 dimensions, collage work, cut-out papers that she assembles to
