Marie-Paule Benoit-Basset is a French artist, born in 1946 in Innsbruck, Austria. Even if she left her homeland at the age of seven, she is still split between Austria, Algeria and France. She achieved a masters degree in philosophy before working in various artistic studios.
Her artistic career began with an oil painting on canvas, depicting an imaginary world where the artist portrays half-women half-monsters, questioning the spectator.
Her career took a slight turn when she switched from oil to watercolors and worked on landscapes, filled with loneliness and despair.
Since 25 years now, her work has been displayed in several exhibitions all over France and abroad like Belgium, Germany, U.S.A and Hungary.
