Biography
Pier Régnier is a painter and plastic artist born in 1959 in the region of Bordeaux. He never left this region: he studied at the School of Fine Arts of Bordeaux and then settled in the vineyards that surround the city.
In his work, several elements preoccupy the artist. On one hand, lines make up a "walk" of the artist: "the sinuosities of uncertain lines, of roads of time irrigate the canvases of the painter: It is a world of foundations that try to show themselves this way. A cosmogony is formed, guessed, apprehended, dissappears (Muriel Carbonnet, art critic at the Magazine Beaux-Arts). On the other hand, the women, the genre, the ambivalence between masculinity and feminity, are at the heart of a subtle reflection that inspire Pier Regnier's most recent canvases.
