Biography

Painter and designer, Olivier Gontiès obtained his diploma from the Beaux-Arts de Paris with the congratulations of the jury in 1998. Engaged since in his personal pictorial research, he also produced the posters for the Odéon theater from 2009 to 2012, and worked as an illustrator for prestigious publishers (Gallimard, Actes Sud). For his last series of paintings, he was inspired by the work "Les Îles" by Jean Grenier, which had already been Albert Camus' bedside book, leading us into disparate space-times, navigating brilliantly between reverie and observation. "These archipelagos appear as when the tide is coming down, thus making visible a topography of thought," he explains. Olivier Gontiès once again demonstrates this.
