Jack Garofalo and Michou Simon are a duo of French photographers.
Jack Garafalo, was born in 1924, he worked as a photographer for the Match magazine and worked with Jean Prouvost. The photographer takes a distant and amused look at the celebrities of the time. He did several pictures of Saint Tropez when the city was still not famous. He loves the false peace that allows him to thinks and observe his subject before trying to capture its essence.
The reporter, Daniel Filipacchi, opened the doors of the magazine to a young talent, Michel Simon, born in 1931, who had the nickname of Michou, in order to avoid any confusion with the French actor and director with the same name.
Both artists specialize in the mundane world of famous personalities. They met in Saint Tropez and in Cannes during the festival. They saw born in front of their cameras some of the biggest icons of music and cinema.
