Biography
Alexei Bazanov, born in 1959, is a Russian artist. In 1989 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. Classical education determined his way of painting and his style. Most of the works of the painter Bazanov are executed in a classical way. Despite the fact that the artist's paintings demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the anatomical proportions of the human body, he does in his own unique way the presentation of the human body, like frescoes by old masters.
Sometimes the painter Bazanov depicts figures on an almost black background, as we see in the picture, which involuntarily reminds us of the classical portraits of Renaissance masters. His painting "A la couture" is a true masterpiece of the Russian artist because he succeeded in capturing the postures of the Renaissance by treating them in a contemporary way. It is a rare and unique canvas that is mysterious and alluring.
