Biography

Sousan Luqman is an English artist born in 1961.
She followed a training in design and fine arts in London, before joining an artist residency between 2000 and 2001 at the University of Westminster.Today, the artist lives and works as an artist and teacher in the British capital.

Particularly sensible to the actual socio-political problems, her work gave her the opportunity to compare visually the belief and perceptions of the world. Her influences are multiple and Sousan uses a diversity of subjects such as: representation of molecular cells for her series called "Body", oriental decorations in her series "Seeing Through" and "Transfigurations."

Once she finished her formation at the University of Westminster, her work was quickly recognized and she obtained the prize IMACA Open Submission in 2000 and the Prize of Nottingham Council for voluntary Services Commission the same year.
