Biography
Born in California, United States in 1949, Mark Tansey is a painter specializing in figurative everyday and historical depictions. Tansey spent three years studying at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. It was here that the artist developed a keen sensitivity to the appropriation of media, and refined his unique technique consisting of fresco-style oil painting.
Over the course of his career, Tansey has featured his work in numerous exhibitions and galleries across the world. His artwork entitled “The Last Judgment,” completed in 1971, embodied his mastery of the traditional representational painting technique. The artist now lives in New York City and continues to produce art.
