"In a world that demands to be straight, smooth, and fast, I let the soul flow onto the canvas. Drippy, my cubic and melting character, embodies this humanity that overflows, resists, and still dreams."

Biography

Laurent Perazza – Contemporary painter, creator of the character Drippy and founder of Splashism

I am Laurent Perazza, a self-taught painter born in 1993 in Poissy and now living in Vendée. My work revolves around Drippy, a yellow, cubic, and dripping character that I created and who has become the central figure of my artistic universe. Drippy symbolizes the fragility of human beings in a brutal society, while embodying a form of poetic resistance and awakening of consciences.

Through a pictorial style that I call “Splashism,” I mix pop art, expressionism, gestural printing and dripping technique, to create striking, emotional and visually powerful canvases. Each work depicts Drippy in dreamlike or symbolic environments, sometimes inspired by myths, interior landscapes or historical figures, always with a contemporary interpretation.

Today, my goal is to make Drippy a strong and universal visual icon, capable of reaching a wide audience, while building a coherent, identifiable and meaningful artistic universe. My creations are designed for contemporary art collectors, lovers of striking characters and those passionate about works that tell a story.1
