Presentation

Hervé Loilier is a French painter born in Paris in 1948. Graduated from Ecole polytechnique in 1967 and Ecole nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs, he was the student of Pierre Jérôme and Lucien Fontanarosa.

He taught visual arts at ecole polytechnique from 1973 until 2012 and always did his art work side by side. In 1992, he created a History of Art class at Polytechnique and taught it until he retired in 2012.

A member of several Parisian fairs, "Transposition figurative" head of group at salon Comparaisons, Hervé Loilier presides the Palmes académiques et chevalier des Arts et Lettres.

There is a mysterious and unreal atmosphere in his work, where mythology comes together with history. The artist looks for the spirit in his subject, which he transposes due to his work on colors. This warm and communicative painter presents an Orientalist aspect, adding mystery through his very personal and spectacular universe.
