Born in 1970 - France
Lisa Rosnay is a French artist born in 1970. She grew up in Paris, surrounded by an artistic environment (Her parents are artists and fashion designers). She thus developed a passion for the arts and became set designer.
Lisa Rosnay masters the use of lights, volumes and spaces with a critial and nuanced look, which became one of her main talents. Inspired by the spirit of the times and her knowledge of visual and semiotic codes, Lisa Rosnay creates a postmodern plastic arts language that emanates a strong sense of the contemporary as well as iconic references from the history of art and popular culture. Her work questions our society and its incesant profusion of images.
The artist combines natural pigments with medium, using a rare varnish that enhances the depth while giving a powder effect. The Plexiglass cases increase the works' relief while giving great modernity to the pieces: the observer is caught up with living matter that exults.
