James MacKeown

Born in: 1961

James MacKeown is an artist of Irish descent, born in 1961, in London.

The artist spent most of his childhood in the British Islands, as well as in Turkey, Wales and Ireland, where seas and rivers have watered his memories. Born into an artistic family, his grandfather, Tom Carr (1909-1999), was a famous painter. With his maternal grandfather wielding the brush with talent, James started painting at a very young age and learned to do it by himself. He has participated in numerous exhibitions since the age of 16 and has been awarded several prizes.

James MacKeown lives in Normandy since 1988, in Fécamp, where he enjoys the almost unreal changing light. In the workshop he built, he paints as he breathes and dreams, along with his wife and his five children.

His works are exposed in many private and public collections worldwide (In museums in Ireland and Wales), and they are on permanent display in several galleries in Paris, London, Dublin etc
