Biography
Raffaella Benetti is an Italian artist, born in 1961. She studied philosophy at the University of Ferrare and attended courses in Architecture and Art in Rome. She did research work on icon and Byzantine art.
At the beginning, she was bent towards painting and playing around with colors and light but later Benetti turned towards experimenting precious materials like gold, silver, bronze and marble as she was influenced by authors like Mircea Eliade, Pavel Florenskij, Elémire Zolla, G. Bachelard. Symbolism is an essential aspect for the artist.
