Emma Ford

Born in: 1991

United Kingdom

Emma Ford is an English artist born in 1991 in Warrington. She graduated from the Carmel College in Saint Helens, and obtained a BA (Bachelor of Fine Art) from the Falmouth University.

Emma Ford is inspired by images and personal photographs that revive embellish memories. The artist realizes paintings that capture the intangible reality that is the memory, of which the human figure is often away. These recent artworks are inspired of photographs taken in the Austrian Alps. Emma Ford is mainly interested in painting mountain landscapes for the feeling of serenity that they release. Although she uses the photography as a starting point, the artist then recreates new landscapes that are not only a simple reproduction. Emma Ford wants her canvases to be like contemplative spaces in which the spectator can create his own links and own interpretations of the landscape.

Emma Ford exhibited her artworks in London, during the Falmouth Showcase, the Float Art and the Now Falmouth, at the Millennium Gallery of St Ives as part of the Midas Award, during the Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival in 2013, at The Fish Factory in 2012, at the Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Society in 2012, or even at the Wellington Terrace Studios in 2011.
