Eric Khellas

France Born in: 1974
Born in Tarare in Le Rhone in 1973, Eric Khellas currently lives in the city of Lyon. He did not studied painting but oenology and viticulture. Once graduated, he continued in this field, and worked in the big wine making areas (Beaujolais, Bourgogne, Cotes du Rhone, Bordeaux). He started painting in the beginning of the 2000s, without any kind of training in this field. In parallel to this, he wrote a book in 2001 (De Tout et de Rien) which was published until 2009.

The work of this self-taught artist is abstract, instinctive and subtle. He does all his paintings with acrylics, combining different techniques, mainly with brushes and knives. Which allow him to structure the piece. His paintings are highly contrasting, whether because of their shapes or colors.
