My current plastic work questions painting, its history and its materiality by relying on the experiments carried out in my studio. Using various actions, I deposit a multitude of layers of paint on my supports. I relate them to sedimentary layers, strata which give us figurative pictorial territories.
The themes are varied and question Life through our struggles, our memories, our environment and our History. I work mainly in acrylic and spray paint using the stencil technique in a particular and personal way. I start by working a first layer of paint which will be preserved by a first stencil. A second layer will be worked on, experimented and then reserved in turn by a second stencil and so on until the final construction of my painting.
It is for these technical reasons that I speak of territories and strata. The stencils delimit the worked areas and are similar to circumscribed territories.
My paintings are therefore part of our personal and collective history but also in its own history of creation and development.
From current figuration to abstraction in the making (?), My artistic production wants to be in all humility the reflection of our time.
