Straight out the hood es una mirada documental a largo plazo al lado oscuro e invisible de la calle, desde zonas marginales hasta barrios pobres...

En esta serie, y como fotoperiodista, me esfuerzo por mostrar la cruda realidad de la vida en las calles, visibilizando a las personas marginadas, a los pandilleros, a las personas sin hogar y a las personas con adicción a las drogas. A través de mi trabajo, busco inspirar empatía y comprensión hacia quienes a menudo pasan desapercibidos o son ignorados, y busco desafiar las ideas preconcebidas del espectador y destacar la resiliencia y la fuerza de quienes perseveran ante la adversidad.

Me impulsa la creencia de que las imágenes pueden ser una herramienta poderosa para el cambio social y facilitar conversaciones importantes sobre los problemas más urgentes de nuestro tiempo para concienciar y educar. Quiero contribuir rompiendo estereotipos y promoviendo una mejor comprensión, pero también reflexionar sobre temas importantes como la pobreza, la violencia callejera, la crisis humanitaria, la justicia social y los derechos humanos.

Las fotografías seleccionadas presentan a miembros de pandillas en Los Ángeles (EE. UU.), Ciudad Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam), París (Francia) y la mafia en Nápoles (Italia).
