Biographie
James Sparshatt est un artiste photographique britannique produisant des œuvres qui capturent de façon spectaculaire le dynamisme et l'intensité émotionnelle de la vie. Ses images de la musique et de la danse sont tirées des bars, des rues et des clubs de La Havane à Buenos Aires, de Séville à la Nouvelle-Orléans et au-delà. Ils sont pleins de mouvement, d'énergie et d'émotion.
James a eu des expositions personnelles à New York, San Antonio, Londres, Cordoue, La Havane et à travers le Royaume-Uni. Son travail a été vendu à Art Hamptons, Art Chicago, Pulse Miami, Slick Paris et à des foires d'art abordable à Bruxelles, Amsterdam, New York, Singapour, Los Angeles, Londres, Stockholm, Hambourg et Milan. Son exposition Land of Spirit au Royal National Theatre de Londres a été décrite dans le Sunday Telegraph comme «une collection éblouissante d'images en noir et blanc…».
Ses impressions platine palladium sont produites en collaboration avec l'imprimeur platine spécialisé Max Caffell de 31 Studio. 31 Studio sont reconnus comme maîtres de cette technique d'impression recherchée. Ce sont également les imprimeurs de choix de Sebastiao Salgado, du domaine d'Henri Lartigue et de nombreux autres sommités de la photographie.
James a été lauréat de l'Exposition internationale au Center for Fine Art Photography du Colorado, aux États-Unis, sélectionné pour les Sony World Photographic Awards et finaliste du World Photography Gala Awards.
