Charles Richard Tooby was born in London on May 22, 1863.

As a child, Charles Tooby drew all the pets.

Charles Tooby studied at the Dresden Academy from 1893.

Charles Tooby studied with Albert Brendel in Weimar.

Charles Tooby had been based in Dachau since 1893 and in Gern near Dachau since 1896.

Charles Tooby was a founding member of the Munich Secession.
