Zachariah Njobo

Quatrième enfant d'une famille pauvre, Zachariah Njobo quitte l'école à treize ans mais est déjà initié à la sculpture par son oncle, sculpteur connu. Il a vingt ans lorsqu'il entre au centre artistique Canon Paterson, où on fournit aux artistes prometteurs le matériau et les outils nécessaires.
Pureté des lignes, humour discret, les amateurs remarquent vite le style très particulier de Njobo. Aujourd'hui mondialement salué, son travail figure dans de nombreuses collections privées et publiques.

Zachariah Njobo left school at thirteen but had already been introduced to sculpture by his uncle, a well-known sculptor. He was twenty when he joined the Canon Paterson art centre, where promising artists are provided with the necessary materials and tools.
With its pure lines and discreet humour, Njobo's distinctive style was quickly noticed by enthusiasts. Today, his work is internationally acclaimed and features in numerous private and public collections
