Biography
Born in Pleven in 1964, Ognian Zekoff is a Bulgarian artist. He lives and works in Montreal, Paris and Sofia.
Ognian Zekoff studied at Ilya Petrov National College of Fine Arts in Sofia before entering the National Fine Arts academy.
The artistic European tradition is quite evident in his work, especially due to his expertise in the technique. He combines ancient techniques with contemporary trends, experimenting new medias. Ognian Zekoff draws inspiration from his environment and people aroudn him to create sensitive and timeless work.
Ognian Zekoff's creations are part of several collections especially the Cité Internationale des Arts de Paris foundation, The Contemporary Art Museum in Bulgaria or even The Contemporary Art Museum in China. The artist has participated in many contemporary art fairs and won the special selection prize during the 2nd International Biennial of painting in Beijing in 2005.
