Isabelle Lafargue

My creations begin with a dream, sometimes awake, which continues to come to life with the support.

I am passionate about colors, the strength they release and the emotions and feelings they arouse. I explore here a wide palette of colors and different textures, to feel and understand how their choice, their complementarity brings a dynamic, a harmony, releases an energy, creates an emotion.

I wonder how this feeling can have an impact on the overall perception of the work and also how through the same perspective (the same subject) can we obtain different perceptions? What is important in the work, the overall view, the feeling that emerges from it, a precise detail, a cultural reference, its history?

I like my works to tell a story. They reflect my life experiences, my travels, my encounters, my childhood in St-Pierre et Miquelon or my emotions of the moment, all with a touch of fantasy.

I invite the visitor to experiment, to experience the emotions that the colors, textures and details in my works can give rise to.

To date I have publicly exhibited my works in St-Pierre and Miquelon, in Art Galleries in Canada (Galerie Moncton, Galerie Assomption in Moncton, Galerie Corrid'Art in Shediac, Gallery 78 in Fredericton, Galerie 203 in Montreal for example), and in the United States (New York and Chicago) as well as virtually via social media and websites.
