Biography
Lütfiye Kösten is a Turkish painter, born in 1978.She did an artistic course at high school and then joined the Fine Arts school in Izmir, in the painting department. She improved her training by taking a course in photographic technique, and graduated in 2002. Today, Lütfiye Kösten lives and works in Nantes.
Lütfiye Kösten seems to evolve in a figurative universe, dominated by her obsession for portrait. Her unique work sways between reality of the character but also its abstraction, this way it is erased behind graphic convolution or masks. The eyes are extremely realistic, and capture our look.
