Ernesto Diaz

Ernesto Diaz was born in 1946. From the age of 12, he wanted to be a painter. He has lived and worked in Paris since 1987 and has exhibited his works regularly since 1990 in various galleries, notably in Paris.

His studies took place at the School of Fine Arts in Bordeaux, from which he graduated in 1969 with a higher diploma in fine arts in the Painting section. He was quickly noticed by the Galerie du Fleuve located in Bordeaux, which exhibited him for around fifteen years following the end of his studies.

Thanks to the very solid training of his classic university curriculum, Ernesto Diaz has always pursued several artistic approaches: figurative, abstract and conceptual.

This work was carried out after a trip to South America in the 70s and another more recently during which Ernesto Diaz immersed himself in the very particular societal atmosphere of this continent and that of its many past and contemporary artists and remained deeply affected by it.

He is currently exhibiting at the Audibert gallery in Paray Vieille Poste (France).

The content presents distorted domestic interiors echoing the disorders of the lonely soul accentuated by deviated and curved bodily postures.

A very personal perception of a world in which no less strange and wild cats evolve and which plunges us head-on into a tension: that of the violence of a present from which solitary and idle women escape through the privacy of their thoughts.
