Elie Hirsch: Sculptor - Dinandier

A graduate of Crafts, Ceramic Design and Metal Sculpture, Elie Hirsch finished his apprenticeship with a renowned brass sculptor, Hervé Wahlen, with whom he trained for two years in the work of large pieces.

“My work is not a distant sculpture”: its pieces are indeed as if molded on what the body has most round and make you want to move with them.

Elie Hirsch draws sculptures drawn in a single line, round or unfinished. There are generous volutes, twisted circles, shapes that blossom in a corolla, others that roll up on themselves like the symbol of infinity, and large ribbons of patinated metal that we would have rolled up. Placed on the ground or suspended, some of his works never cease to oscillate. The hammer constrained them while one might think that a hand has just gently bent them, leaving the material with the memory of a certain sensuality.

At the same time, Elie Hirsch also creates jewelry: “I like to enrich my sculptures with what jewelry brings me and give jewelry what sculpture evokes me”. This back and forth between two scales is the salt of his work today.

Winner of the “young creators of the Ateliers d'Art de France” competition in 2007, Elie now participates in numerous exhibitions around the world: Paris, New York, London, Antwerp, Seoul, Rome, Florence ...
