Mélodie Sylvain

France

Biography

Mélodie is a self-taught artist, born in the north of France. She had a very difficult childhood, beaten, insulted, belittled by her mother from the age of 6, until her death (Mélodie was 14), and completely abandoned by her father, whom she would not see again until a year before his death. Drawing has always been her escape, her way of escaping from her difficult daily life. Today, she decides to talk about her childhood through these paintings to free herself from her past but also to highlight associations that help children. These paintings are always the projection of her body in red to show the suffering but surrounded by joy by these childhood drawings and the joyful colors. "We must protect children"
