Xavier Hool studied graphic design at the Ecole d'Arts Appliqués de la Chaux-de-Fonds and printmaking at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels de La Cambre in Brussels.
Drawing on his experience in the performing arts and his roots in the fine arts, he has created and designed over 200 sets for shows, theaters, performances and operas.
Xavier Hool depicts artists in the process of creating, using all their resources to embody their roles, sharing moments from the artists' lives and the atmosphere backstage. He shows the concentration and the daily, ancestral work of the artists. In particular, the performance of Arthur Avilés, choreographer, dancer and director of the dance company "AATT: Arthur Avilés Typical Theatre" in New York.
