"Parallel Worlds" by Andriy Klishyn is a striking and thought-provoking piece that explores the theme of duality and hidden dimensions. The painting is divided into three distinct sections: the dark, turbulent waters at the bottom, a thin band of light in the center, and a mystical sky with red streaks above. The deep purple and black tones of the water evoke a sense of mystery and the unknown, symbolizing the subconscious or an alternate reality. The narrow strip of white and pale yellow light could represent a threshold between worlds, a liminal space between reality and illusion, life and afterlife, or consciousness and dreams. The dramatic red streaks in the sky give a sense of movement, almost like echoes of energy or forces unseen.Through this work, Klishyn likely wanted to express the idea that multiple realities exist simultaneously, separated by fragile boundaries. The painting invites viewers to question what lies beyond the visible world and challenges perceptions of reality. It captures a sense of mysticism, transition, and the unseen forces that shape existence.

Presentation

Born on February 27, 1958 in the city of Kirovabad, Republic of Azerbaijan. Almost immediately after birth he moved to Eastern Kazakhstan, to the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk. Lived there for 15 years, graduated from school and grew up. In 1975 he moved to Crimea, and in 1978 he settled in eastern Ukraine, in the city of Gorlovka. He graduated from the Technical and Economic Institute and worked as an engineer, teacher, and then in the field of insurance, finance and banking. Since May 2014, a forced migrant has been living in Kyiv.

The artist about himself:

“As a professional artist, I started my career late, at 61 years old. But it is possible that this was what should have happened. Everything has its time. Rich life experiences have become the source of my creativity. My art is ambiguous and unlike any other, probably because “I paint with my heart." Sometimes I use an intuitive drawing, namely: not from life or from a photograph, but only what suits the subconscious, soul, heart.

Most importantly and completely unexpectedly for me, after a series of works I began to understand where my images come from... I think that I or my essence saw them in our past or future life.

Despite my little experience, I already have more than two hundred paintings, about forty of them have found “their home" in private collections and museums."

The paintings are in the Lutsk Art Museum, in the Korsakov Family Museum of Contemporary Art.
