Biography
Colin Guillemet, born in 1979 in Paris, did his training at Central Saint Martins College of Art and at the Royal College of Art before working at the Hochschule der Künster, Zürich.
Present in several exhibitions around the world (China, USA, England, Norway, Finland...), France discovered him at the 59th Salon de Montrouge in 2014. His amazing multifaceted work is like the author himself: it invites us to think outside the box and offers an unexpected vision, filled with poetry and is a portrayal of our relationship with the world.
Inspired by great people such as Marcel Duchamp, John Cage and Jean-Luc Godard, Guimmet's approach revolves constantly around soul searching and casts doubts on his artistic practice. He makes room for ideas rather than look for them...A type of casualness, a firm intention of remaining far from truism, a mix of clear and the obvious.
