Presentation

A graduate of the National School of Art and Applied Arts, Anne Boille sets up her workshop in Paris. She rediscovers and experiments with a meticulous and original technique which consists in painting upside down, on the back of the glass: the fixed under glass.

This process, born in the Renaissance, in Murano, where glass craftsmen painted on glass scraps, copies of votive offerings or biblical themes. From Italy, it dates back all over Europe, then falls into disuse in the 19th century.

Wishing to benefit more from transparency and play endlessly, she quickly chose plexiglass, lighter and less fragile than cutting glass which must be framed. Anne will then superimpose the Plexiglas plates one on top of the other in order to obtain more depth, and discover this material which is easily cut, pierced, assembled; she will also create plexiglass volumes.

She finds her inspiration in her daily life, her themes are urban, very contemporary. Painting little bright colors, she uses slightly iridescent and metallic tones with some fluorescent tips which accentuate the living side of her movement work. Sometimes you get the impression that the scene is really moving.
