Biography

Daniel Niaux, born in 1943 and engraver ornamentalist by trade, is a painter, self-taught recognized. Award of excellence at the age of 14, he is today one of the most appreciated landscapers in Normandy. His post-impressionist sensitivity is inventive and poetic, pointillism is his reason, color his horizon. But the artist seeks to free himself from constraints and gets drunk with a stripped-down geometric language that he definitively opposes to the forms of nature. He now exhales the purity of his feelings through the use of simple geometric shapes. His natural tendency to play with colors detached from any correlation with reality upsets our senses and immediately arouses the emotion of a new expression. Thus his canvases are in a panic of squares, rectangles, circles and broken lines, bathed in shimmering and endearing color. The touch of Niaux.D definitely has the suggestive quality of geometric abstraction and speaks for itself in it.
