Description
Watercolor on heavy paper created by Carlo Ravagnan in 1975. Hand-signed and dated lower left. Hand-signed and dated 1977 on the reverse.
Carlo Ravagnan was born in Udine on September 4, 1911, and died in Venice in 1992. He studied at the Venice Art Institute and lived and worked for extended periods in Paris, London, New York, and Los Angeles. An He was one of the finest Venetian watercolorists and made a notable contribution to Venetian painting with the richness and quality of his work. Ravagnan's work has gained recognition abroad, especially in France, Germany, England, and America, and his exhibitions have received glowing reviews from leading critics.
