Description
In the hundreds years seperating Italian Renaissance from abstract painting, female beauty standards went to thinness adoration, appearance gained power, and happiness remained as fickle as ever. Cellulite never ends.
Presentation
A Parisian product mixed with Brussels freshness, I work on collages in which I try to show the beauty and harshness of our world, to bear witness to the suffering and joy that we can experience in our fragile but magnificent universe.
I am particularly touched by our collective experience of being the sons of a civilization that has ended up endangering life on earth. This dramatic experience finally prevents us from fleeing the questions that comfort and consumption allowed us to dodge.
Finally, the blind and heavy waters withdraw, carry us away, open up to give us back life.
