Description
This captivating artwork depicts a surreal female figure emerging from the waters with grace and power. The body is magnified, embracing a style inspired by the aesthetics of surrealism, deformed in a fluid and dreamlike way, suggesting continuous movement. The waves extend along the shapes of the body, reinforcing the illusion of perfect harmony between nature and humanity. The light of the setting sun illuminates the scene, tinting the sky with golden and orange hues, accentuating the contours of the figure while adding a dramatic and poetic dimension to the whole. The rocky islets on the horizon add depth to the composition, creating a striking contrast between the fluidity of the body and the solidity of the rocks. The gaze seems to merge with the environment, eternally suspended between air and water, symbolizing the duality and fusion of the elements. This masterpiece combines technique and imagination, capturing a mystical and transcendent essence that challenges and fascinates the observer.
Presentation
Art, for me, is an inner journey and shouldn't simply stop at the boundaries of realism, but rather cross that barrier and plunge us into the very heart of the imagination, of surrealism. We must appeal to the imagination, the impossible, the unreal through the phenomenon of pareidolia in order to captivate the viewer's attention. By employing pareidolia, or the art of seeing something else, a cognitive phenomenon combining the interplay of shapes, shadows, and light, Saâdi creates a kind of optical illusion that leads the viewer to linger over his canvases in order to understand what lies hidden within. Using pareidolia as an artistic and poetic tool, Saâdi draws us into his artistic universe where landscapes and figures intertwine. Surrealism remains his central theme, where feminine beauty echoes the beauty of nature.
Farid resides in France but exhibits regularly throughout the world (Japan, Belgium, France, USA, etc.).
