Mina Mond

Born with a rare heart defect, Mina Mond suffered a near-death experience (NDE) as a teenager and turned to faith. While shyness prevented her from becoming a pastor, it opened the doors to creativity, like a catharsis, and her first major series of votive offerings linked this faith to her pictorial work.
The Alsatian artist experienced a real turning point a few years ago, when she once again brushed with death and questioned her practice. She tells stories about the tragic, terrifying, and mysterious world in which we live.
Stories that appear in his mind like a kind of illumination, walking in nature and listening to music, thus creating an altered state of mind. A process stemming from his long practice of clairvoyance and spiritualism, also used for healing. The practice of shamanic drumming completes his quest for spirituality.
Her painting is prayer. The lines, hatching, and dots become meditation, like illuminating monks who pray throughout their work. The stories thus created become magical objects that she sees as bulwarks against evil and death. Their current relevance is stinging and testifies to her deep fears and her difficulty understanding the ambivalence of humanity.
