Description
She steps outside, the door softly closing behind her. Moonlight reflects off her golden skin, casting a gentle glow over the quiet evening. Following the silent whisper of her heart, she moves across vast, open landscapes until she reaches the edge of a river. She pauses for a moment, feeling the cool night air; then takes a deep breath before stepping into the water, surrendering to its invisible force. Drifting, she feels weightless, suspended between what was and what could be. The air around “her vibrates with possibility, tingling her skin with the sensation of freedom. Colours beyond naming swirl in the distance, reflections of dreams she has yet to dream. Her heart beats in rhythm with the currents, drawing her further into the unknown. Time stretches and softens with each moment, an eternity of stillness. The boundary between herself and the world dissolves as she merges with the flow of the river. Every breath, every heartbeat, resonates with the promise of something new. A soft smile forms on her face as the river gently delivers her to the vast ocean beyond.
Presentation
Johannes Nielsens is a Swedish artist, he was born in 1979 in Falkenberg, Sweden. He graduated in 2003 in Fine Arts from the Lunds Art School. Between 2003 and 2005, he worked as an artistic assistant in Dublin then came back to Sweden, Gotenburg until 2007. He lives and works in Beijing now.
At the age of 8, he realized in bed during his repeated dreams that the perception of his own body could vary. He imagined himself with huge hands or thin needle like legs and sometimes woke up and realized that it was just a dream. This is when he understood the difference between rational objective reality and inner reality, an imagination where the human being seems to evolve constantly.
With the help of his creations, the artist wanted to transform this inner experience of the physical body by using clay and proportions. His black sculptures are not only personal due to the depiction of this inner space, but a visible honest reality.
