Biography

Hélène Wiesenhaan is a self-taught photographer based in Haarlem, the Netherlands. From the age of six, she knew she wanted to become a photographer. At sixteen, she bought her first camera and began capturing street life and the people around her.

After completing her studies, she started working as a photographer for one of the Netherlands' largest publishing companies, VNU/Sanoma Media. Since then, she has collaborated with many leading Dutch magazines and contributes her work to Getty Images. Her photography spans a wide range of disciplines, including reportage, fashion, sports and portrait photography. Hélène enjoys stepping into the diverse worlds we inhabit and telling their stories through images.

In 2013, she exhibited her work in New York during Photoville as part of the Dutch exhibition . In 2016, her Paralympic photography was included in the exhibition at ADPLOG in Turin, Italy. That same year, she co-published her first book, , together with Inge Hondebrink.
