Award winning artist David Walker works in both oil paints and watercolours. Before concentrating on illustration and fine art painting David trained and practiced as an architect. As a painter, therefore, David’s work is primarily concerned with the built environment. The play of light and atmosphere on the manmade forms of our cities.
David is a three times winner of the Frank Herring award at both the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, as well as a recipient of the Rowland Hilder award and ‘The Artist’ magazine award.

Award winning artist David Walker works in both oil paints and watercolours. Before concentrating on illustration and fine art painting David’s trained and practiced as an architect. As a painter, therefore, David’s work is primarily concerned with the built environment. The play of light and atmosphere on the manmade forms of our cities.
David is a three times winner of the Frank Herring award at both the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, as well as a recipient of the Rowland Hilder award and ‘The Artist’ magazine award.
David’s work has been exhibited in the UK, France and China. In 2013 he was invited to mount a solo exhibition at the Broadgate Tower in the City of London. The show was entitled ‘Relative Space’ and concentrated in particular on how seemingly mundane spaces can evoke a sense of place. This year David was invited to exhibit and be a guest speaker at the opening ceremony of the ‘Re- Interpretation’ 2016 International Watercolour Exhibition in Suzhou, China. The exhibition will tour Chine throughout 2016.
