Presentation

The gallery was founded in 2008 with the opening of Artisan in Komagome, Tokyo, with a vision to establish photography as a culture rooted in everyday life. After relocating to Omotesando, it eventually established its base in Kyoto.

In 2019, Gallery Japanesque Paris opened in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, expanding its activities internationally through participation in art and photography fairs across Europe.

Today, we are based in Kyoto and primarily present the work of Japanese photographer Yasuo Kiyonaga, whose distinctive photographic expression transcends the boundaries between the abstract and the figurative.
