Charlotte Orel is a painter whose works are a translation of her understanding of nature, life, and the cosmos. To bring perceptions back into matter, she uses natural materials, such as ashes, coal, earth, sand, and grape marc, which she collects during her expeditions around the planet. There is a whole process of preparing the raw material that is an integral part of the creation of the canvas: she mixes, grinds, and filters it before being able to create natural paintings. And what is painted on the canvas is channeled, that is, not mental. There is also a meditative phase beforehand. Once the paint is on the canvas, to present certain paintings, she paints her body, dances, and creates animations and video montages. She is like a tool at the service of Life.
