LINES, SURFACES, VOLUMES, a collective exhibition dedicated to contemporary geometry.
Through painting, photography, and sculpture, Chufy, Jules Hidrot, and Stéphane Cloteau explore the foundations of plastic construction: line, surface, and volume.
Chufy's painting invests the surface as a site of construction. Between abstraction and architectured figuration, his dense and rhythmic compositions organize the form through color, perspective, and the arrangement of planes. The pictorial surface becomes an active space, traversed by lines that structure as much as they unbalance.
With Jules Hidrot, the line structures the gaze. Originating from urban space, it fragments, displaces, and recomposes perception. The photographic image transforms into a field of visual tensions, where landmarks are unsettled and where space is redefined by tracing and repetition.
With Stéphane Cloteau (CIES), the reflection unfolds in volume. His sculptures, composed of precise assemblies and restrained balances, question the stability of forms. Volume appears there as a frozen tension, a moment suspended between force, movement, and architecture.
LINES, SURFACES, VOLUMES thus offers a clear and sensitive reading of contemporary geometry, conceived not as a theoretical system, but as a perceptive experience. From image to plane, from plane to space, the exhibition invites the viewer to move between the works and to experience the forms as constructions in dialogue.
