Biography
MarÃa Ibánez Lago (Buenos Aires, 1960), lives and works in Paris, France.
Studied Scenography and Painting at L'Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Exhibits in a solo show in Julio artist-run space (Paris) at the Borges Cultural Center, Palais de Glace, Recoleta Cultural Center, Cultural Center of Spain (ICI), Fondation Areatec, Arts Museum of La Pampa, among others. She exhibit also whith Y Gallery (NY-Lima), Centre les Recollets (Paris), Galeria Magda Belloti Madrid, and the Buenos Aires gallerys Ruby, Jardin Oculto, Appetit, Crimson, Massota Torres, among others.
She focuses his work on a theatrical concept of the image, in relation to a non-explicit writing. She investigates formats and historical supports of the images, applying them to the universe of painting. She refers to the popular iconography of energy. She is interested in the creation within communities of artists, through different means and supports. He currently works at www.space-in progress.com, an independent artists-run space.
