Biography

Reggie Sultan is an aboriginal artist born in 1955 in the north of Alice Springs. He discovered painting at the Alice Springs Convent School and perfected his technique by observing old painters. He decided to devote himself to painting in 1985.
He currently lives and works in Darwin.

Reggie Sultan began his painting career, painting the landscapes that surrounded his hometown, he then adopted a more traditional style and started using aboriginal symbols. His creations depict the bush, which he knows so well, hunting and other aboriginal traditions.
He paints on black canvases, and uses colors such as ocher, red or yellow. He uses paints that become matte when they dry.

Since he moved to Darwin, Reggie Sultan has participated several times at the Aboriginal Art Awards.
